It enhances the communication of users&#8217; cookie consent preferences to Google tags on websites. As of March 2024, it is obligatory for all websites utilizing Google services to implement Google Consent Mode V2.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3a62434 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3a62434\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Integration modes with biskoui\u200b<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4c86f67 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4c86f67\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Biskoui supports two modes of integration with Google Consent Mode v2, the<b>biskoui<\/b>&nbsp;<b>integration<\/b> which is fully managed by biskoui and the<b>manual<\/b>&nbsp;<b>integration<\/b> which allows you to manage the Google Consent Mode v2 lifecycle manually (typically via Google Tag Manager tags and templates).<\/p>\n<p>We recommend activating Google Consent Mode v2 via&nbsp;<span style=\"font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important; background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b ); font-weight: bold;\">biskoui integration<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important; background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b );\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b ); tab<\/li><li>Ensure that at least one Google service (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Conversion Linker) is configured<\/li><li>Tick the box &#8220;Enable Google Consent Mode managed by biskoui&#8221;<\/li><\/ol><div><span style=\"background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b );\"> <\/span><\/div><div><p><span style=\"font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important; background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b );\">When the Google Consent Mode v2 option is activated, our biskoui banner will automatically manage the consent lifecycle according to the Google API. It will activate certain consents based on user choices. By default, everything will be set to &#8220;denied,&#8221; and then certain consents will be &#8220;granted.&#8221; <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important; background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b );\">For example, Google Analytics will activate consent for <\/span><em>analytics_storage<\/em><span style=\"font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important; background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b );\">and Google Ads or Conversion Linker will activate consent for <em>ad_storage<\/em>, <em>ad_user_data<\/em> and <em>ad_personalization<\/em>.<\/span><\/p><p>By default, Google Consent Mode v2 is set to <b>Basic Mode<\/b>. It can also be set to <b>Advanced Mode<\/b>. <\/p><\/div><div><p>If you wish to use<span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important; background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b );\">Advanced Mode<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important; background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b );\">  of Google Consent Mode v2, you must use biskoui&#8217;s integration with Google Tag Manager (GTM) to trigger your tags. See our <a href=\"https:\/\/biskoui.ch\/en\/blog\/installing-a-service-via-google-tag-manager\/\">guide to configuring services via Google Tag Manager<\/a>. <\/span><\/p><\/div><div><span style=\"background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b );\"> <\/span><\/div><div><b>How to use Advanced Mode with Google Tag Manager<\/b><\/div><div><p><b><br><\/b>In the <b>Advanced<\/b> version of Google Consent Mode, consent-aware tags (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Conversion Linker) will be launched as soon as the page is initialized, rather than when the user consents. This will make it possible to collect anonymous information from the outset, and more precise information once consent has been given by the user. <\/p><\/div><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">In the GTM dashboard, add a trigger with custom event \u201cbiskoui_ready\u201d This event is fired by biskoui once it has fully loaded and initialized Google Consent Mode v2.<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">For each &#8220;consent-aware&#8221; tag (Google Tags), define the trigger as the new custom event you defined in step 1 (&#8220;biskoui_ready&#8221;). This will launch the scripts as soon as biskoui has finished initializing the default consent, but before the user has given consent.<\/li><\/ol><div> <\/div><div><p><b><\/b><b>Troubleshooting<br><\/b><b><\/b> There are a few common issues when testing Google Consent Mode v2, so be sure to read this section if you have any problems.<\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Ensure the biskoui tag is started before any other tag that requires Google Consent Mode v2. The biskoui tag will initialize the consent mode, and if other consent-dependent tag are fired in parallel, the Google Consent Mode will mis-behave.<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Google Consent Mode v2 is currently only integrated with Google services (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Conversion Linker). If you have a custom script that takes consent into account, you&#8217;ll need to use Unmanaged Mode to control when consent is triggered.<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">In the advanced Google Consent Mode v2, it\u2019s important to load Google script only on \u201cbiskoui_ready\u201d trigger and not on \u201cAll pages\u201d trigger in GTM, otherwise there is a risk that these scripts will run before Biskoui has fully initialized the consent mode.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure you don&#8217;t have<\/span> any other scripts that initialize the consent<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. With Biskoui Managed Mode, Biskoui automatically handles Consent Mode initialization with the Google API, so you don&#8217;t have to  <\/span>add custom code to your HTML header. Pay close attention to the advice you find online, as many other CMPs require the user to add the initialization code themself, which is not the case with Biskoui! <\/li><\/ul><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-124fc40 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"124fc40\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">How to integrate manually<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a9f01af elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a9f01af\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>By default, biskoui is configured for manual integration; no action is required in the biskoui administration console to activate<span style=\"font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important; background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b );\">manual integration<\/span>.<span style=\"font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important; background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b );\">. Make sure, however, that the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important; background-color: transparent;\">  checkbox &#8220;Enable Google Consent Mode managed automatically by biskoui&#8221; is <b>disabled <\/b>in the &#8220;Services&#8221; tab.<\/span><\/p><p>In<span style=\"background-color: var( --e-global-color-6c3e59b ); font-family: 'DM sans', sans-serif !important;\">manual integration<\/span>, you decide for yourself how to integrate Google Consent Mode v2. Biskoui will not interact with the Google Consent Mode v2 API, instead you&#8217;ll need to initialize consent at the right time and trigger consents on certain biskoui events.  This integration requires to write Javascript code. We recommend that you follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/tag-platform\/security\/guides\/consent?consentmode=advancedhl=fr\"><u>official Google documentation<\/u><\/a>. The basic steps to follow are:<\/p><ol><li>Initialise all consents to deny. This can be done either with a script in the header of your HTML, or with the trigger \u201cConsent Initialization &#8211; All Pages\u201d in Google Tag Manager (GTM).<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Start all the Google Tags on the trigger \u201cAll Pages\u201d, or manually added in your HTML header after the consent initialization (it\u2019s very important to first initialize the consent and only then load these scripts)<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">You can use the biskoui Google Tag Manager (GTM) triggers to add custom scripts to grant consents when the user accepts a specific service.
